About Arctic Squad

Arctic Squad is an inclusive ski club created to provide disabled and adaptive skiers with opportunities to ski regularly, develop their skills and enjoy being part of a supportive team.

Our focus is on participation, development and progression.

We want our members to enjoy skiing at whatever level is right for them. For some, that may simply mean skiing regularly, improving their technique and building confidence. Others may want to train more frequently, visit indoor snow centres or explore opportunities to take part in inclusive ski racing.

There is no requirement to compete. Every member should be able to develop their skiing at their own pace and pursue the aspects of the sport that they enjoy.

Our Approach

Arctic Squad aims to provide a friendly and supportive environment where members can:

  • ski regularly and develop their skills;

  • build confidence and independence on the slope;

  • enjoy being part of a team;

  • take part in trips to indoor snow centres;

  • access opportunities for further training and development;

  • explore inclusive competition and racing if they wish; and

  • enjoy social activities with other members and their families.

Our aim is simple: to keep people skiing and give them opportunities to develop.

Snowsport Wales

Arctic Squad is affiliated to Snowsport Wales, the governing body for skiing and snowboarding in Wales.

Our affiliation helps connect Arctic Squad and its members with the wider snowsports community in Wales and supports the development of safe, inclusive and enjoyable skiing opportunities.

North Wales Snowsports Club

Arctic Squad members will also become members of North Wales Snowsports Club.

This gives our members opportunities to become part of the wider skiing community and, where appropriate, to ski and develop alongside other recreational and performance skiers.

We believe that disability should not prevent someone from becoming part of the wider snowsports community.

Our Club

Arctic Squad is run for the benefit of its members.

As the club develops, we want our members, parents, carers and families to help shape its activities and future direction.

We aim to create a club that is welcoming, positive and ambitious for its members while recognising that every skier will have different abilities, needs and aspirations.
